We have three cottages on Tupelo Honey Farm- The Herb Cottage and Frida’s View both have two bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. Olivia’s Secret is more romantic and only sleeps two. All the cottages have private pools, decks, braai areas, well equipped kitchen and WIFI.
The Herb Cottage is next to the herbs we grow for Tzaneen and Polokwane. It is close to the river so you can hear the water from the cottage, and you can watch the birds and monkeys in the forest trees. The pool is conveniently situated on the deck, as is the braai. On chilly nights there is a wood fire inside. The main bedroom overlooks the deck, with a queen size bed, and a bath and an outside shower. The other bedroom has two three quarter beds, and a shower and a bath. In the lounge there is a day bed, so another guest can stay if required. The lounge is open plan with a good view of the pool and the garden. Along the river there is a very worthwhile walk that starts at the bottom of the garden.
Frida’s View also has two bedrooms, both with showers, and the main bedroom also has a bath. In the lounge there is a fold out couch which can accommodate an extra two people. The view from the patio over the avocado orchards down towards the lowveld is lovely, so sitting there with a glass of wine is a very relaxing pastime. Listening to the birds and watching the butterflies can be quite entertaining.
Olivia’s Secret is tucked away and private – a cosy cottage and all the amenities you could require. There are several walks on the mountain that start close to the cottage – a lovely way to see and hear the birds and butterflies. Narina Trogon, Chorister Robin Chat and two types of Turacos are found here, just to name a few of the birds.
The access road is 2.5 km of dirt, but if you have a car with reasonable ground clearance you will get here with no problem.
